Playable Non-Playable Races? 6 Additional Roleplayable Races

Have you ever felt limited by the selection of playable races in Star Wars: The Old Republic? Most of the current playable races tend to be very reminiscent of humans, with human technically being two options because of the cyborg race, but with certain features changed, like eye types, skin colours, additional tendrils and horns. 13 playable races is a lot for a player choose from but what if you wanted something more out there? I asked myself this question to find out how far I can push the limitations of character creation in SWtor. Here are some of my results.

Voss

The Voss are a mystical race from the planet of the same name. The women of this race tended to have red warm toned skin with bright blue full eyes. To show this with the in-game character creator I picked the Cathar race as they have the option for a very warm skin tone and the full blue eyes we need. To complete this look you'll want to buy the Voss Dignitary, Voss Mystic, or Voss Ambassador outfits.

Devaronian

You may think that this one would be hard to make as the men and women are completely different, but for this one, the men are quite easy to make a similar design for. Most Devaronian representation have them with a red devilish design, however, they also can have pink, brown, and white skin tones too, making one of the Zabrak in-game races work perfectly. Although your horns will be a bit short, so don't let them bully you for that.

Sarkhai

This species was made specifically for SWtor, so why not play as it? There is limited information on the Sarkhai, but using the normal human race in-game you can make a character that could pass as a Sarkhai. From what we have seen in-game, they have white hair and use face paint to intimidate the wildlife on their planet, so we'll be using one of the many cosmetic options to look like the face paint of the Sarkhai.

Massassi (kinda)

This one is a bit out there, but as the Massassi and Sith Purebloods share a common ancestor, it could be possible that some pure blooded Sith could have more Massassin DNA than usual, giving them a larger more intimidating physique. Obviously you will want to pick the Sith Pureblood race and make them a body type 3, but for the head option you might want to pick number 4, as it most closely resembles the the Massassi's face shape with their pointy brows, cheekbones, and chins. You can really pick any hair, but I like the tied back dreadlocks as it makes the character appear bigger.

Zeltron

This one is a popular one, as players like the race's bright hair and colourful skin tones. I found the normal human race to be able to make something similar to the Zeltron by using one of the colourful hair colours and mixing a purply complexion with a slightly tanned skin tone to get a skin tone that resembles a pale pinky purple colour. You can easily pick what vibrant hair colour you'd like.

Kaleesh

Like the Voss, you can use certain adaptive gear to enhance your Kaleesh appearance. Using the Sith Pureblood race you can make a similar look to an unmasked Kaleesh, but by pairing this race with any of the skull masks and head dresses found in-game, you can make a very intimidating Kaleesh.
